I am fascinated by this image as I believe it shows Ève Lavallière, and the cabaret artist, Spinelly in the salon of Jean Richepin and his wife, the actress, Cora Marparcerie. Richepin wrote a play, ‘Le Tango’ with Ève Lavallière playing the role of a man – which she did very often in her career.To find out more, go here (if you can read French!):
